Alzheimer’s Care Academy (English, Virtual)

This training focuses on understanding Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, including how they affect the brain, behavior, and daily life. We cover the differences between dementia, Alzheimer’s, and mild cognitive impairment, along with the stages of the disease and how needs change over time.

The session is very centered on person centered care, getting to know the individual, understanding their needs, and adjusting care accordingly. We also go over communication strategies, how to respond to behaviors, and how to identify triggers in the environment. The goal is to help PAs feel more confident supporting individuals with dementia in a way that’s calm, respectful, and effective.

After you register, an organizer will reach out to confirm your registration and share the Zoom link. This class will be conducted in English.
