Better Wages and Benefits
1199SEIU home care members won regular raises and healthcare coverage by taking action to strengthen Medicaid. Between 2022 and 2026, our wages increased by $3.45/hr for caregivers outside NYC, Westchester and Long Island and $2.65/hr for everyone else.
Respect and a Voice
1199SEIU home care members have spent years fighting for fair pay and better working conditions. With over 200,000 CDPAP workers in NY, our collective voice can be even stronger.
Educational Opportunities
As part of 1199SEIU, CDPAP caregivers can access educational opportunities including Basic Life Support Certification, Nutrition and Diabetes & more.
Protecting Medicaid
1199SEIU healthcare and home care workers take action to protect and expand Medicaid coverage, which protects our consumers and our jobs.
WHAT ARE DUES?
It takes money to bargain contracts, enforce protections, and run our union democratically.
Dues are 2% of base pay, with a $20 minimum. That’s only $2 out of every $100!
No one pays dues until CDPAs vote YES on a contract we believe is worth it
You’d authorize and be notified before any deductions begin.
