Infection Control(English, Virtual)

This training provides the learner with an overview of how infections develop and spread in home care settings, and the role caregivers play in preventing transmission. The session covers common types of infections, the chain of infection, and the stages of infection. Students will learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of infection and understand factors that increase a person’s risk.

The training also reviews standard precautions, like proper hand hygiene, the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of soiled linens and contaminated items, environmental cleaning and disinfection, and handling sharps safely. We also discuss infection risks related to activities of daily living (ADLs) and when it is appropriate to seek urgent care, emergency services, or contact a primary care provider.

To sign up, fill out the registration form below, and an organizer will reach out to confirm + share the Zoom link. This class will be conducted in English.
