COVID-19 Resources

As Consumer Directed caregivers, we recognize that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic we face many unprecedented challenges in keeping us, our families, and our consumers safe and healthy.

This webpage contains important information for Consumer Directed caregivers on the available benefits in the event of the loss or decrease in employment due to COVID-19.

As a CDPAP worker, you are considered an essential worker. If you are able to work, and your working environment is safe, you should continue providing care to your consumers. Your work is critical to battling the coronavirus pandemic and protecting your own communities.

You may be eligible for financial assistance if you, someone in your family, or your consumer becomes sick, or your consumer decides to cut your hours.

The benefit possibilities outlined below are newly available state benefits that are beyond the ordinary paid time off that you may have already earned and are entitled to receive.

Additionally, qualification to receive benefits will not impact your eligibility for Medicaid and CHIP.

1199SEIU is advocating at the federal and state levels to ensure that CDPAP caregivers are not left behind, and that unemployment, sick leave, and family leave benefits continue to be guaranteed. We will update you as the situation evolves.
